Winkler/Challenger Roundabout

EHC was the General Contractor awarded by the City of Ft Myers for the Winkler and Challenger Roundabout project, which replaced the existing signalized intersection with a modern two-lane roundabout to improve traffic flow and safety. The multimillion-dollar project was completed ahead of schedule and funded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) through the Local Agency Program (LAP). EHC performed the construction of the two-lane roundabout at Winkler Ave and Challenger Blvd., approach roadway improvements, drainage upgrades, installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) for pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, signage, and pavement markings, and utility adjustments as well as the removal of temporary traffic signals.
